How to Force Restart Your PS5 Console
If the PlayStation 5 has crashed or frozen and it’s not responding to your Dual Sense controller, you can use this method to restart.
Locate the power button on your PS5 which is found on the middle-black colored part f the system. For PlayStation 5 Standard Edition, the power button is located right next to the disk eject button; on Digital Edition, the power button is the only one.
Press and hold the power button on your PS5 for at least seven seconds only releasing it after you hear the second of two beeps. You’ll get a “Preparing to turn off PS5” message on the screen.
And that will restart your PS5 controller. You might have tried the methods above and had no luck and thinking of unplugging your PS5. We don’t recommend this because you may cause hardware damage that may require you to send your console to Sony for repair.
