It still feels like a dream referring to the PS4 as an ‘old generation console’ but that’s exactly what it is from now moving forward.
One of the steps in setting up your PS5 for the first time is signing in to your PSN. account. This will bring your Online ID, your friends, trophies, and games from PS4 to PS5.
As soon as you power on your PS5 and connect the controller, you’ll be required to connect to the Wifi network. Then next, you’ll be asked to update the system software.
Now it’s time to sign in to your PSN account. You can use the Email/Password combo or scan the QR code provided if your have the Play station app on your phone.
If you want to use the app on your phone, Simply update it, then go to Settings, and select ‘Sign In to PS5’. That should open a QR code scanner with your phone camera. Use it to scan the QR code on the screen. You’ll be logged in to your PSN account.
